When you do something long enough you know the good points and the bad points. For a long time Rick knew that stem walls were a pain and he hated doing them. However, they were essential for the custom homes that he built. One day he got an idea and within 5 minutes he had the basics of rocket bracket sketched out on a scrap of paper. He had the prototype made up and things suddenly became a lot easier. 

Whenever anyone saw how easy it was to use these brackets, they always said to Rick that he should get that patented and sell it. Finally after 7 years, and a lot of development expenses, Rick was able to bring this inspiration to the marketplace.
